Per Vermont statutes, Title 27 § 616, if a water supply system doesn't come from a public source, you must, within 72 hours of signing the purchase contract, give the buyer an informational brochure prepared by the Vermont Department of Health. This brochure the advises buyers of the potential health effects of drinking contaminated groundwater, and the availability of test kits provided by the Department of Health.
Failing to provide buyers with this information can result in fines between $25 and $250.
