Under 10 V.S.A. § 6236(e), added by Section 104 of Act 181 (2024), park owners or managers must disclose whether lots are located in Special or Moderate Flood Hazard Areas based on FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps and provide this information at or before the lot lease is signed. The form helps ensure tenants understand potential flood risks and are aware that flood insurance through FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program or private insurers may be available. This notice must be provided at or before lot lease signing.
The Vermont Flood Disclosure Guide explains how to determine whether a property is located in a FEMA-designated flood hazard area, how to locate the official Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM).
