Data Share - NY - New York State Alliance of MLSs

The major MLSs in upstate / western New York have a data share in place, whereby listing on one MLS will make the listing appear on all of the MLSs.

We list on Western NY MLS, which makes the listing appear on the following MLSs:

  • Central NY MLS
  • Chautauqua-Cattaraugus MLS
  • Cortland MLS
  • Elmira-Corning MLS
  • Ithaca MLS
  • Jefferson-Lewis MLS
  • McKean County MLS
  • Mohawk Valley MLS
  • Ostego-Delaware MLS
  • Upstate NY MLS
  • Western NY MLS

Previously, an agent had to join each MLS independently, but due to the number of agents that cross into different MLSs, this solution was developed so an agent only needs to be a member of one of the MLSs to view the listings from other MLSs.

The one minor downside is that sometimes the public facing site for the local MLS only displays the listings that are organic to that MLS. This should not be an issue, as consumers almost always search the major real estate portals (Zillow, redfin, realtor.com). Agents on that MLS can still view the listing as normal.
