How to Update the Listing Agreement
To update the start or end date on the Listing Agreement, please submit a change request through your account on the homecoin website.
To create an MLS listing change, go to https://homecoin.com/dashboard, then:
- Find your property and click on "Request Changes".
- In the new screen, you will see the form to submit changes.
- Check the "Listing Agreement" checkbox to change the Start and End date.
Note: Making a change is a two-step process. You create the change in step 1, then sign and submit the change in step 2. We won’t receive the change unless you submit it in step 2.
Here is a video that shows how to make changes:
Listing Agreement Date Change Limits
There are limits to the changes we can make to the start and end dates on the Listing Agreement.
- For the Start Date:
- After the listing has been activated on the MLS, the start date can no longer be changed.
- We can not set the start date to a date in the past.
- You can set the start date to a date in the future, but only up to 1 month ahead.
- For the End Date:
- It can not be set to a date in the past.
- It can not be set to a date past 1 year of the Start Date.
Why One Would Need to Update Their Listing Agreement Start Date
The MLS requires that a listing is activated within a current number of days after it has been submitted to us. Unfortunately, if we are unable to activate your listing within the required timeframe, we will not be able to activate the listing on the MLS until the Start Date on the Listing Agreement is updated.
There are a few reasons as to why we would not be able to activate the listing within the appropriate timeframe:
- The listing is missing required information that needs to be provided by the seller or the landlord.
- The listing is missing required disclosures that need to be filled out and submitted by the seller or the landlord.
- Waiting on the MLS to provide us with information on submitting a listing properly.
- Sometimes the seller or landlord will request to hold off on activating the listing for a few days or until they are ready.
- No response from the seller or landlord at all in regards to their listing.
When we are ready to activate your listing on the MLS and notice that we have passed the required timeframe, we will let you know that a change request to update the Start Date on the Listing Agreement is required.
Why One Would Need to Update Their Listing Agreement End Date
When an End Date on the Listing Agreement is less than 12 months after the Start Date, customers are free to extend the listing up to the full 12 months if they would like to keep it active.
- If the End Date is within the initial 12 months after the Start Date, it is free to extend the listing.
- If you would like to extend past the initial 12 months, it will be a $49 renewal fee for another 12 months.
