This disclosure notifies buyers that the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an invasive pest that can damage or kill ash trees, which may impact a property’s value and result in potentially significant costs for treatment or removal. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has issued a statewide quarantine and recommends preventive treatment for ash trees within 15 miles of a confirmed EAB case.
Sellers are expected to disclose if there are confirmed ash trees on the property and/or if Emerald Ash Borer has been confirmed within 15 miles of the property.
