The Iowa Mold Disclosure is used in addition to the Iowa Seller Disclosure of Property Condition required under Iowa Code § 558A.2. While Iowa law already requires sellers to disclose known material defects, this form is specifically used when mold is a known or suspected issue and allows for more detailed reporting.
Sellers must indicate whether the property has been tested for mold, whether mold was found, and whether it was identified as a toxic variety. Sellers must also disclose any remediation, repairs, or professional cleaning performed to address the issue. Failure to disclose known material defects may result in legal liability under Iowa Code § 558A.6.
